Guru Gobind Singh Ji
1. Guru Gobind Singh Ji is the tenth Guru of the Sikhs.
2. He was born on 5th January, 1666 in Patna, Bihar.
3. Birth name of Guru Ji was Gobind Rai.
4. He was the only son of the 9th Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and Mata Gujri.
5. Gobind Rai learned martial training from early childhood.
6. He was just nine years old when he received Guruship after his father's death.
7. Guru Gobind Singh was a spiritual master as well as a fierce warrior.
8. He was the founder of the Khalsa Path, a warrior community, in 1699.
9. He was a learned man, a great poet and a philosopher.
10. He compiled a number of books and poetry collections in his life.
11. He fought many wars against the Mughals.
12. Guru Ji was very brave and he always fought for the justice.
13. Guru Gobind Singh Ji had four sons.
14. Two of his youngest sons, Sahibzade Zorawar Singh Ji and Fateh Singh Ji, were bricked alive.
15. His two elder sons, Sahibzade Ajit Singh Ji and Jujhar Singh Ji were martyred in the battle of Chamkaur Sahib.
16. Guru Sahib sacrificed his entire family for the sake of the country and religion.
17. He is honored in history as 'Sarbanas Dani'.
18. He finalised the Guru Granth Sahib and composed and compiled the Dasam Granth.
19. Before his death, Guru Ji conferred Guruship upon Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
20. Guru Ji died of fatal wound on October 7, 1708 at Nanded.
